Iwaki, May 2020 — Tungaloy is expanding its BXA20 hard turning CBN grade inserts to include inserts with 0.2 mm and 0.1 mm nose radius.

BXA20 incorporates a dedicated PcBN substrate with enhanced fracture resistance and an advanced PVD coating that is twice as thick as existing grades enhancing edge toughness. These properties enhance the grade’s wear and fracture resistance in a wide range of hard turning applications.

BXA20 extends tool life and boosts productivity in turning hardened steel parts that are common among automotive manufacturers.

The new addition includes 0.2 mm and 0.1 mm radius inserts for extended coverage of hard part turning needs.
